Huawei flexes its muscles – gently, gently

Huawei Technologies went on a charm offensive this week, launching its first processor chip for servers and opening the doors of its research labs to journalists for the first time in the company’s 30-year history.
The rare peek inside Huawei’s traditionally opaque operations perhaps sheds light on why China’s biggest tech company has been called a “Noah’s Ark in the flood of the digital world.”
Huawei has been much in the headlines of late. Some Western countries are resisting the use of its wireless networking equipment over security concerns, and legal wrangling continues over Canada’s detention of company Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou on a US arrest warrant.
