Top publicity officials attend African journalism class

Top Chinese publicity officials attended the closing ceremony of the 7th African Government Officials’ Journalism Class in Shanghai on Sunday.
Wang Zhongwei, deputy director of Information Office of the State Council, China’s Cabinet, and Yang Zhengwu, Minister of Publicity Department of Communist Party of China Shanghai Committee, gave certificates to the members of the class.
The practice will improve the communication and cooperation between China and African countries in journalism and culture areas, thus enhancing understanding and deepening friendship, Wang Zhongwei said.
The class is a joint initiative by the Information office of the State Council and Ministry of Commerce.
Thirty six government officials and leaders of media from 19 African countries attended the two-week class, touring Beijing, Chongqing and Shanghai and visiting Shanghai Expo.
